4 Kids UK Limited is a computer education
company with Head
Quarters in Cape Town, South Africa and
now offices London, United Kingdom. It was
established in 1995 in order to address the
critical need for Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) training at Primary School
level.
As a result of our huge success in Southern
Africa, with over 500 schools using both our
Windows and Open Source curricula, a comprehensive
UK ICT Curriculum has been developed for Key
Stages 1 and 2. We recognise that Teachers
cannot rely on merely using Educational Software
to address ICT requirements, but require a
structured lesson environment in order to
ensure that ICT and cognitive skills are effectively
measured against the National Curriculum and
QCA guidelines.
The
Curriculum covers Key Stages 1 and 2 and was
designed for use by ICT Teachers and/or class
teachers who teach ICT to their own classes.
Learning focuses, themes and topics for our
Integrated Learning Units have been selected
from what is currently being studied in schools
in the United Kingdom. This enables schools
to not only develop ICT but also numeracy
and literacy skills in an interesting and
exciting environment. The Computers 4 Kids
Integrated ICT Curriculum will ease the task
of teachers by providing relevant integrated
ICT lessons which develop cognitive as well
as ICT skills with the emphasis on using the
computer to learn.
